The Greater Sacramento Economic Council

The Greater Sacramento Economic Council is the catalyst for innovative growth strategies in the Capital Region of California. The organization spearheads community-led direction to retain, attract, grow and scale new businesses, develop advanced industries and create jobs and investment throughout a six-county region. Greater Sacramento represents a collaboration between local and state governments, market leaders, influencers, and stakeholders, with the sole mission of driving economic growth. The Sacramento Region was founded on discovery, built on leadership, and fueled by innovation.

The Sacramento Region is at an unprecedented time in its history. Downtown Sacramento is undergoing a billion-dollar transformation and surrounding cities continue to develop their own unique assets and thriving communities. As a region, we are poised for greatness. High-profile business and community leaders have joined together to take advantage of this opportunity and form an organization that will take us to a new level of growth and competitiveness within California and beyond.

Greater Sacramento is a public-private partnership, with the majority of funding coming from the private sector. The organization is implementing a new approach to economic development and is seeking multi-year financial commitments to allow more time and resources to be dedicated to business recruitment and retention, rather than ongoing fundraising.

Greater Sacramento promotes the Sacramento Region through domestic and international marketing missions, industry conferences, professional networks, and other channels, and works to recruit high-value companies, jobs, and new investment to the area. Greater Sacramento assists companies with corporate locations and expansions, delivering information and coordinating resources to assist companies from early in the site location process to permitting and hiring and everything in between. Greater Sacramento’s services are always conducted privately and confidentially.
